Why did I choose this video for you to view? It’s funny and I always like funny, but this video illustrates some points I would like to make with regard to positive thinking.

How do you feel about your weight loss goal? Are your thoughts positive? Do you feel like it’s achievable? Do you feel deserving? Are you ready to take steps to get the life you want? It may sound dramatic, but if you don’t feel good in your own skin, there is something that needs to be adjusted so you can. How do you feel about yourself today? Are your thoughts positive about you right now? Do you think you look real good today? I mean, we all have bad days and good days, but how do you feel about yourself? Appreciating yourself right in the here and now AS YOU ARE TODAY will go a long way when it comes to your goals. Self-love is important today and all days. You may have a goal to reach, but you can still love yourself as you are. Think of it as you would supporting a loved one. Did you ever make it easier for someone to go through something just because of your presence? Or did you do that for someone else? The ability to do that for yourself will help you.

Thoughts like…i’m so fat or unattractive may hinder your success or make it more difficult to visualize success. It’s better to think in terms of self-love. If a beloved friend or family member said those words, would you agree? Or would you offer a loving response? How about looking in the mirror and seeing a work in progress? Here’s some helpful ways of thinking. It’s time to practice self-love and use positive thoughts to assist you in your weight loss goals.

  • I look real good today. Hey, find a reason. Maybe it’s a necklace. Maybe you think the outfit is more slimming and it feels good. Maybe you look good in a particular color. Maybe you take extra time with your hair. Make it happen. Find a reason to feel like you “look real good today.” (Disclaimer: These songs lyrics get stuck in your head. But I’m ok with that. It’s a good message.)
  • I’m proud of myself. You’re working towards a new goal. You have gone farther than most people. You actually took action. Every time you listen to the recording or make a healthy food choice, you have taken another action step towards your goal. Be proud!
  • I achieve my weight loss goal. You can. It requires action steps. It requires reflection. It requires adjusting so it fits into your life. It needs to be sustainable. Visualize or “see” yourself in your mind’s eye and your mind will accept the “new” you. You are worth it!
  • I can do anything I set my mind to. I don’t think it’s a secret. Establish a goal. Change your present habits. Make new positive habits. Change and focus your thoughts. Make it a part of your inner reality and you can make it a part of your life.
